Our Evangelist - Mark Perkins

I was born in Chicago and spent most of my life in Texas, living in England since 1996. I served as youth pastor, community youth worker and now as a full-time evangelist. I was a school teacher and studied at Seminary before entering ministry. While in university, my best friend and I would go out on weekends to speak to teens about Jesus. There is still no greater joy.

I am evangelist with Outreach UK and serve four churches. Mainly thru door to door and also encouraging Christians to evangelise. Evangelism springs from the Holy Spirit so I encourage Christians to keep in step with the Spirit through daily Bible reading, fervent prayer and committed obedience. Pray for me, as the same applies to me!

My wife is a lovely local gal named Sharon. Our children are Caleb (5) and Grace (3). I enjoy sports, books, games, food and people.

At the age of 12 Jesus saved me. I had been a regular churchgoer but had no certainty of heaven. Through reading the Bible I was convinced heaven and hell were real. I thought I’d go to heaven if I had done more good than bad. Of course, I wasn’t certain if I’d done enuff good! A school friend showed me from the Bible how I could be saved. Pray for me and St Thomas Baptist as we share this Good News of salvation!
